Our story
2014
Three divers and a skiff
A bleaching summer stripped the reefs off Coki Point — three local dive guides started wiring broken fragments to racks off a borrowed dock.
2017
The nursery takes root
Permanent nursery tables went in off Coki Point — and the first weekend class of volunteers learned to clean, measure, and re-rack growing corals.
2019
Classrooms meet the reef
Marine science units launched in six public schools, and student snorkel days made the nursery part of the curriculum.
2021
Corals come home
The thousandth nursery-raised coral went back onto a wild reef, and two-year survival held at 87% — proof the model works.
2023
Eyes on every reef
Weekly monitoring crews began tracking all 38 sites for bleaching and disease, sharing open data with researchers across the Caribbean.
Today
Three islands, one mission
Nurseries and monitoring crews across St. Thomas, St. John, and St. Croix — powered by 2,100 trained volunteers and every public school in the territory.
